NEW Rules And Ways to Prevent Concussions
There are many rules trying to be made to prevent concussions in all levels of football around the country. Some ideas are to reduce off season contact practices to decrease the amount of time players are in risk of concussions. Another idea is to increase the time a WR is defenseless from when he catches the ball to when he touches the ground. Also, the NFL banned the wedge busting tactic on kickoffs where players can get really talked hard. Three other rules created by the NFL are that there is no head to head contact, players must be removed from the game if they have concussions symptoms, and last, but not least players can now be fined for dangerous hits. The second thing that is important is coaching stratigies to prevent concussions. There are two main ideas. First, "Don't lower your head with the ball to ram through defenders." This tactic is very common for bigger running backs, but is really lethal to players brains. Second, "Takle with your head up." Defensive players use there helmets to cause, harder hits, which causes fumbles. Though, this tactic can be successful it can cause many concussions too.
